SCB invites students at every level to join 13th annual SCB challenge competition
Siam Commercial Bank is set to provide Thai young people of all ages and every educational level with another chance for developing their potential through the SCB challenge competition to be held for the 13th consecutive year. This year, the contest will give youths an opportunity to practice in real-life situations, develop their learning skills, and be instilled with good citizenship, discipline, social responsibility, and an awareness of the need for protecting the environment. Competition activities will be conducted under a “13th Year SCB Challenge Keeps Thailand in Pace With the World” theme to encourage young people in Thailand to step into the modern age, become technology literate, and create useful innovations for communities.
This year, young people from vocational institutes are also invited to participate in the competition, which will be divided into three categories based on the following education levels:
- A Painting Competition for primary school students, designed to promote their imagination, creativity, and team spirit based on art and their knowledge of science and technology. Teams will compete in painting on 2 x 3 meter canvases under a provided theme and time slot. Each team must comprise 4 students from Prathom levels 1 to 6, and each team member must be from different levels. Applications will be open until October 20, 2018.
- A Mixed Media Competition on “Talk about Thailand to Make it Louder around the World” for secondary and high school students. Through this challenge SCB hopes to promote local pride among young people in the provinces and encourage them to be good and kind citizens for their communities through a learning process of applying technology creatively for “mixed media” productions in a formless manner, whether through writing, video clips, or short films. Application is opened until October 15, 2018.
- An Innovative Community Project Competition is for university or college students. SCB hopes to see students apply their academic knowledge, experience, and creativity in developing innovative action plans, problem solving methods, and management approach. Projects must be practical and creative and generate sustainable benefits to the economy, life quality, and environment for the betterment of communities and the country. The winner in this category will receive a Royal Trophy granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Applications are open until October 10, 2018.
Winning teams of the three categories will receive scholarships worth 2 million baht in total. For additional information and online application, please visit www.scbchallenge13.com and scan the QR Code. Application opens via an online channel only.
