Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC)

Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC) is an education institution set up by the economic and industrial sectors to help enhance the quality of education in Thailand following new models. It aims to reach world-class standards through providing educational opportunities for outstanding young people and facilitating career advancement in science and technology in the country.

 

SCB has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Power of Innovation Foundation to establish the Office of Information Technology, VISTEC, with a budget of 450 million baht.  It aims to create quality human resources in information technology, as well as to generate ideas, knowledge and innovations that will support the nation's economic growth and sustainable development.

VISTEC is a research university that focuses on world-class research, science, technology and innovation, and also provides the perfect opportunity for truly professional scientists here. It admits excellent students who wish to study for a master's degree or a Ph.D., awarding full scholarships to all of them. In addition, any student who attains outstanding results will be granted a Sri Mentee Scholarship from HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, for scholarship and research work at world-class universities abroad such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford University, Tokyo University and Kyoto University. VISTEC opened its first academic year in August of 2015. It aims to be one of the top 50 universities in the world by 2035.
