SCB cancels fees for SMEs with launch of mega campaign ‘SME Fighto’ to boost spirit and arm entrepreneurs with well-rounded support of Manee Free Solution • Mental support is given to SMEs to overcome obstacles through 2019-edition Mae Manee.
Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) announced cancellation of transaction fees for SMEs as part of ‘SME Fighto’ campaign launched by the bank today to raise fighting spirit of SME entrepreneurs based on insights that they are wearied by their business struggle in the slow economy. The campaign will equip them with ‘Manee Free Solution’, providing well-rounded support of three free privileges to unleash their sales and growth potentials and pave way for greater business success and wealth. Applicable to SMEs with sales not exceeding 75 million baht, Manee Free Solution offers 1) Cancellation of Fees for all types of transactions, namely transactions via digital platform, being a Manee Mungkung account holder, and inter-provincial cheque deposits; 2) Interest Upgrade with Manee Mungkung, a current account with the highest interest rate of 1% to be paid at the end of every month when the terms and conditions are met; and 3) Free Access to Co-working Space and Business Development Seminars to help SME entrepreneurs take their business further forward. SCB also introduced 2019-edition ‘Mae Manee’ character as a mental support for SME entrepreneurs to overcome all obstacles and unveiled Cris Horwang️ as the new ‘Manee Girl’ 2019 to build campaign awareness among its target groups. With integrated marketing communication plan, the campaign will expectedly expand its awareness and inspire SMEs nationwide to keep fighting.
Mrs. Apiphan Charoenanusorn, President, Siam Commercial Bank, pointed out that SMEs contribute significantly to overall economy of the nation with multifaceted roles across manufacturing, provision of product and services, and employment. “With their size category regarded as a common platform for startups, SMEs play a key role to connect with larger operations in the business and manufacturing sectors. More than 99.8% of companies in Thailand are SMEs. They account for more than 50% of the country’s employment while 70% of their production are sold domestically. SMEs are therefore integral to strong economic foundations and serve as a key channel for income distribution to people from all walks of life. However, SMEs are relatively more vulnerable to economic pressures, both domestically and internationally. Moreover, the emergence of modern technologies has resulted in the digital disruption that continues to affect SMEs who could not adapt to abrupt changes.”
