SCB working with Bank of Thailand 24/7 to rescue short-term borrowers, with more than 100,000 customers already approved for relief packages worth in excess of 150 billion baht

 

In response to the measures announced by the Bank of Thailand to prevent loans from turning into NPLs, Siam Commercial Bank is offering financial aid to every customer seeking support to lift their burdens during this difficult time, and to enable them to survive this crisis together.  SCB will be available to receive requests from customers twenty-four hours a day, every day, via its branches and the SCB Call Center.

Meanwhile, SCB has embarked upon other interim relief measures to help borrowers whose loans have not turned into NPLs in accordance with the Bank of Thailand’s policy, listed by segment as follows: 

 

Credit Card Customers

  • Credit card customers are allowed to lower their minimum installment payment from 10% to 5% in 2020 and 2021, 8% in 2022, and back to 10% in 2023. SCB will automatically apply the new installment rate to all customers from April 2020 and customers are not required to get prior approval from the Bank.

 

Auto Loan Customers

  • SCB auto loan customers (with credit lines not exceeding 250,000 baht) are allowed to postpone their installments for 3 months by submitting their requests via the Bank’s available channels.

 

Home Loan Customers

  • Home loan borrowers (with credit lines not exceeding 3 million baht) are allowed to suspend principal payments for 4 months by submitting their requests via the Bank’s available channels.


SMEs

  • SME customers with credit lines not exceeding 20 million baht are allowed to suspend principal payment for 4 months by submitting their requests via the Bank’s available channels.

 

SCB truly understands the difficulties faced by its customers and will work to its fullest extent every day to expedite dealing with the requests submitted by every customer. According to the latest records, more than 100,000 customers have been approved for relief measures worth more than 150 billion baht in credit lines.
