Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) and SCB Protect Co., Ltd., represented by Ms. Poramasiri Manolamai, SCB Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Insurance Business Officer & SCB Protect Chief Executive Officer; and Mr. Sutat Larpkiattaworn, SCB Protect Chief Commercial Officer; together with business partners, namely, I.C.C. International PCL Chief Corporate Communication Officer Mrs. Ramida Russell Maneesatiean; Rev Edition Co., Ltd. Chief Marketing Officer Ms. Siraporn Wattana; and Ms. Suchata Chuangsri, aka Opal, Miss Universe Thailand 2024 joined the recent launch of the "Lady Protect: Protecting Thai Women Against Cancers" campaign. The campaign promotes caring power to raise awareness among Thai women about protection when encountering a serious illness and to ease their concerns about medical and healthcare expenses in case of an unexpected illness. The campaign offers chances to win insurance coverage of 50 million baht in total, a 30% discount on critical illness insurance premiums, and a 100-baht donation from each critical illness insurance policy to the Queen Sirikit Breast Cancer Center Foundation.
Talking about the campaign, Ms. Poramasiri Manolamai, SCB Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Insurance Business Officer & SCB Protect Chief Executive Officer said, “Cancer remains a significant risk for Thai women. According to the Ministry of Public Health, breast cancer is the most prevalent, followed closely by cervical cancer. Alarmingly, the incidence of these cancers continues to rise. Therefore, SCB and SCB Protect are eager to help this client segment, which faces numerous health challenges, particularly serious diseases, and an increasing risk of certain types of cancer. However, these cancers can often be successfully treated and allow for a return to normal life if detected early. Joining hands with our business partners sharing the same vision of empowering women to take charge of their health, we are launching a "Lady Protect: Protecting Thai Women Against Cancers" campaign to educate them on how to reduce their cancer risk and to communicate the importance of being prepared to combat the disease.
The Lady Protect campaign offers EASY E-Cancer insurance policies for which clients pay just thousands in premiums to get millions in coverage. Policies involve a one-time payment, and cover all types of cancer at all stages in a detected-paid-done approach. Special campaign offers include shopping with participating brands under I.C.C. International PCL, Rev Edition Co., Ltd., and the Bangchak Green Mile membership program of Bangchak Corporation PCL by rewards point redemption through a QR code registration or link specified by each business partner.
Clients buying an Easy E-Cancer insurance policy between 1 September – 30 November 2024 will have a chance to win a waiver of first-year premiums. There are 50 prizes, worth a million baht in total insurance coverage. Each prize offers insurance coverage of 1 million baht (for a coverage period and premium payment period of 5 years), whereby SCB Protect Co., Ltd. will absorb premiums for the first year only. A Lucky Draw is scheduled for 9 December 2024.
To promote wider access to critical illness insurance coverage among Thai women, SCB and SCB Protect are also offering a 30% discount when buying any of the Big 3 Critical Illness Insurance or Easy E-Cancer plans offered by FWD Life Insurance PCL via the SCB EASY app or SCB Protect online channels. Discount codes are available between 1 September – 30 November 2024. Eligible insurance policies must be approved by 30 November 2024.
For each critical illness insurance policy sold under this campaign, a 100-baht donation will be made to the Queen Sirikit Breast Cancer Center Foundation for medical equipment procurement.
Ms. Manolamai added that all the business partners are delighted to have Ms. Suchata Chuangsri, aka Opal, Miss Universe Thailand 2024, participating in the campaign. Having undergone breast lump surgery herself, Ms. Chuangsri was inspired to create the “Opal for Her” project to raise awareness about breast cancer, the leading cause of death among women worldwide. Opal's story serves as a powerful source of empowerment, emphasizing the importance of women’s health and promoting more widespread awareness about coping with this serious disease, including the need for cancer insurance coverage.
