About Us
Siam Commercial Bank was established by royal charter on January 30, 1906 as the first Thai bank. During its more than 110 years in business, the Bank has played a leading role in providing the financial services needed in Thailand, developing deep expertise.
Today, SCB is a leading universal bank, offering deposits and lending and a wide range of other products and services, to meet the needs of all customers. Our retail services include home loans, personal credit, car hire purchase, credit cards, ATM cards, debit cards, currency exchange facilities and overseas remittances as well as investment and insurance products. For corporate and SME customers, the Bank offers cash management-related services, lending products, international trade financing, treasury products, debt and capital market products, corporate advisory, investment banking and other services. Our services are backed by our extensive banking network and continual pursuit of technological innovation. In addition, the Bank's SCB Group includes three major subsidiaries that provide specialized financial services: SCB Securities and SCB Asset Management.
Under the vision to serve as "The Most Admired Bank,” SCB has established a strategic plan called SCB Transformation, designed to dramatically upgrade the Bank's infrastructure and enhance its long-term competitiveness. This transformative plan responds to rapid change in the financial services industry, which is being reshaped by digital technology, regulatory change and new consumer behavior. Following this strategic plan's "Going Upside Down" approach, the Bank will transform its business model and thinking throughout its human resources, work processes, products and technology, enabling breakthrough performance and creating sustainable value for our customers and society.

Based on our commitment to serve the nation as "The Most Admired Bank," Siam Commercial Bank is revitalizing its organization and operations under a major strategic plan that we call SCB Transformation. This effort will strengthen our organization according to a new business model that follows a "Somersault Strategy." Here is an outline:
The Bank has developed a new mobile platform, SCB Easy App, along with various lifestyle applications to better respond to a wider variety of customers' everyday needs. In addition, the Bank has developed a QR code payment feature under a lifestyle payment concept called "Mae Manee Money Solution," for personal banking customers. This is backed by an app for shops called "Merchant App," which supports QR payment and all other key forms of payment including physical/virtual credit cards, WeChat Pay and Alipay. The Bank has also developed its API gateway technology to connect with business partners serving consumers. Our data analytics will process huge pools of information to better serve the needs of customers and to provide them with access to a full range of credit services. This will help us provide more channels for individual clients to subscribe to personal loans as well as for small businesses to access credit lines, via SCB Digital Lending on the mobile platform.
To provide all customers with wider and better access to bank credit services, SCB will offer new and alternative types of personal loans, credit cards, unsecured personal loans and business loans for small SMEs, based on new methods using smart and efficient technology.
The Bank believes that new technologies such as Big Data analytics and machine learning will help to better highlight the behavior and preferences of customers, enabling us to offer more products and services to meet their needs. In addition to deploying new information management systems, the Bank has established SCB Abacus Co., Ltd. to focus on the use of artificial intelligence technology in various areas.
As the business environment undergoes rapid change, the Bank is in the process of developing a new business model as a banking hub connected to both operators and consumers, focusing on customer interaction and creating an environment to serve the needs of all sectors fully via the Bank and its partners.
In addition to its five core strategies, the Bank remains committed to the development of human resources and corporate culture, as well as continued investment to advance its technological foundation, which is the main driving force behind the Somersault Strategy.
Personnel: Although digital technology is becoming more and more pervasive, the bond between bankers and customers remains essential. SCB Academy has been set up to enhance the potential of our people, promote a service mindset and increase agility in our business culture. The focus is on effective outcomes, customer service and corporate governance. Our good governance focus also encompasses our offerings, helping protect customers' important right to obtain financial services that are trustworthy.
Technology: SCB is focusing on digital innovations along with cyber security. The Bank invests in new technology through its subsidiary, Digital Ventures, Inc., to expand its key technological platforms, such as for blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning and geolocation intelligence, which are all playing key roles in business and financial services. This subsidiary helps SCB discover and learn from the best startups and developers around the world. The Bank aims to top up its offerings with new products and services that deliver an excellent experience for all customer segments, to create lasting benefits for all sectors.
