SCBX Group, through SCB, Delivers 5,520 Tree Saplings to Support Sustainable Green Bangkok



SCBX Group, through Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), continues its commitment to building a sustainable environment by delivering 5,520 tree saplings to expand Bangkok’s green spaces and help tackle air pollution in the long run. This initiative is part of the project “Planting 1 Million Trees in Bangkok to Create a Natural Wall Against PM 2.5 Pollution.” 

Mr. Saksit Pitipongsoonthorn, First Senior Vice President, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, represented SCB in handing over the saplings to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). The saplings were allocated to two areas as follows:

  • Phutthamonthon Sai 3 Park (Khok Nong Na Organic Agriculture Learning Center): 3,520 saplings, received by Ms. Chanida Rodsawat, Agricultural Technical Officer, Senior Professional Level, Green Area 5 Management Section, Environment Department, BMA.
  • Wachirabenchathat Park (Railway Park) – Bangkok Tree Bank: 2,000 saplings, received by Mr. Ukrit Chongchatuporn, Chief of Green Area 1 Management Section, Environment Department, BMA.

The saplings delivered include long-lived species such as Queen’s crape myrtle, Bullet Wood, Golden Trumpet Tree, Water Olive, and White Cheesewood, selected for their ability to thrive in Bangkok’s urban environment and enrich the city’s green landscape for generations to come.


On this occasion, representatives from SCBX and the BMA joined together in planting the trees, a symbolic act of collaboration that highlights the collective effort to expand Bangkok’s green spaces and ensuring shade, clean air, and a healthier environment for future generations.

Over the past four years, SCB has contributed more than 100,000 trees and sapplings under this project. This reflects SCB’s strong commitment to conducting business with social responsibly with social responsibility, caring for the environment, and helping to create a more livable and sustainable world.
