Siam Commercial Bank launches the 18th SCB Challenge, inspiring creative imagination among elementary school students nationwide through art competitions
Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) continuously promotes the cultivation of imagination through art among elementary school students via its "SCB Challenge" initiative.
This program strategically focuses on fostering crucial 4C characteristics – Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity – essential for the development of young minds. Emphasizing the importance of instilling awareness and good citizenship for the betterment of society, SCB seeks to nurture both virtuous and talented individuals. The latest 18
th
edition of this initiative centered around the theme
"Creative Power from the Principles of Morality and Goodness."
Engaging a diverse pool of 400 youths from across the nation, the competition was structured into four regions: the central region, the northern region, the northeastern region, and the southern region.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Apichart Pholprasert,
Head of the Division of Art Education at the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, and his team, in collaboration with
Dr. Sangkom Thongmee,
Director of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Art Center, lent their expertise as judges. Furthermore, volunteers from SCB branches in each region actively participated, offering encouragement to the budding talents. In parallel, SCB orchestrated an
"SCB Challenge Savings Mission"
activity to augment financial skills and knowledge, and to foster discipline among the youth partaking in the competitions.

Central Region:
The event took place at Mahisorn Auditorium, Siam Commercial Bank Head Office, where
Ms. Araya Phuphanich,
First Executive Vice President of the CSR Function at Siam Commercial Bank, presided over the opening and presented awards.
Winner: Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Kindergarten School, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province
1st Runner-up: Ban Thai Samakkhi School, Sa Kaeo Province
2nd Runner-up: Wat Ruak School, Bangkok
Northern Region:
The event took place at Chiang Mai University Auditorium where
Assoc. Prof. Prasert Rerkkriangkrai,
Vice President of Chiang Mai University, presided over the opening ceremony, and
Mr. Warunyou Kokpoon,
Senior Vice President and Area Manager of Chiang Mai Area Office at Siam Commercial Bank, presented awards.
Winner: Ban Tha Song Yang Community School, Tak Province
1st Runner-up: Woranakorn School, Nan Province
2nd Runner-up: Sirimart Thevi School, Chiang Rai Province
Northeast Region:
The event took place at Khon Kaen University’s Kanchanaphisek Multipurpose Convention Center, where

Assistant to the President for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, presided over the opening ceremony, and
Mr. Nithiwat Phatsiriwit,
Senior Vice President and Area Manager of Khon Kaen Area Office at Siam Commercial Bank, presented awards.
Winner: Ban Prakong School, Buriram Province
1st Runner-up: Atchara Kindergarten School, Nakhon Ratchasima Province
2nd Runner-up: Ban Non Khwao School, Khon Kaen Province
Southern Region:
The event took place at Prince of Songkla University Auditorium’s Surat Thani Campus, Surat Thani Province where
Dr. Khanchai Wongchana,
Assistant President for Student Development and Alumni, Surat Thani Campus, presided over the opening ceremony, and
Assoc. Prof. Suchada Tipmontree,
Vice President, Surat Thani Campus, presented awards.
Winner: Wat Khan Ngoen Community School, Chumphon Province
1st Runner-up: Wat Samai Suwan School, Surat Thani Province
2nd Runner-up: Ban Na Thawee School, Songkhla Province
For high school and vocational school levels, competitions will focus on creating projects to uplift the Thai community in accordance with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) guidelines, utilizing science and technology. The committee has selected the five finalist teams, and they are now heading to their respective areas to implement projects in collaboration with local communities, striving to achieve impactful results. These student teams will reconvene to present their projects in the final round on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will take place at SCB Academy, 18th floor, Backyard Zone.
