SCBX Group through SCB Drives SCB–CONNEXT ED Quality Schools with Educational Leadership Development in Sisaket

SCBX Group, through Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), is advancing the project “SCB–CONNEXT ED Quality Schools in Sisaket” to enhance the capacity of school executives by developing coaching skills. SCB Academy collaborated with the International Coaching Federation (ICF Bangkok), the professional body that sets standards and elevates the coaching profession in Thailand, to organize a workshop titled “The Leader as Coach for Education Executives.”

The program aims to empower school executives to become inspirational leaders who understand human resource development principles, thereby fostering sustainable organizational growth and improving the overall quality of education. A total of 75 school directors and deputy directors from Sisaket’s quality schools participated, alongside SCB staff serving as School Partners (SP) and staff from the Siam Commercial Foundation, who supported the training process throughout.

The event was honored by the presence of executives from the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), including Dr. Thanyanan Kaewkerd, Senior Specialist in Educational Studies and Acting Deputy Director of the Bureau of Educational Innovation Development, and Ms. Kittayaporn Prayoonprom, Senior Specialist in Educational Studies from the Bureau of Academic Affairs and Educational Standards, who encouraged participants at the training held at Sri Lamduan Hotel, Sisaket.

 Participants learned and practiced coaching fundamentals such as:

• The importance of coaching
• Essential coaching skills, tools, and techniques
• Deep listening and powerful questioning
• Application of the GROW Model: 
  • G – Goal: Set clear shared objectives
  • R – Reality: Understand the current situation
  • O – Options: Explore creative alternatives
  • W – Will/Way Forward: Choose actions and implement

This leadership development initiative helps school executives better understand people, supports teachers in meaningful growth, and creates safe, empowering learning environments for students. The program not only transforms schools but also fosters growth among the participating SCB staff.

The “SCB–CONNEXT ED Quality Schools in Sisaket” project builds upon the CONNEXT ED Foundation initiative, in which SCB is a partner. Its goal is to strengthen school executives’ management skills, elevate education quality, and transform schools into opportunity-rich environments where teachers and students gain knowledge, life skills, and values to become vital contributors to national development. Knowledge and experience from SCB Academy, the Siam Commercial Foundation, School Partners, and educational experts will be leveraged to drive this mission forward.
