What is UP-Ngern-Yuem?

UP-Ngern-Yuem is a personal revolving loan for those who do not have a fixed income or proof of income, allowing them to build up their financial creditability for the first time. It is a one-time application with a quick approval result within 5 minutes. If you prove to have financial discipline with on-time repayments or upload any of the following supporting documents: a payroll slip, a salary certificate, a bank account statement, a copy of your house/car registration, you will have an opportunity to raise your credit record for a higher credit line and more access to other SCB loans. It’s like playing a game and taking on challenges to level up your credit record.

What are the interest rates?

The minimum credit line is 1,000 baht. The maximum credit line is 20,000 baht* for an instalment period of up to 12 months** for every approved credit line.

  • Interest rate is 2.09%/month, equivalent to 25% p.a.
  • Special 0% interest rate when using UP coins

**After 31 December 2023, the maximum instalment period is 6 months.

Are there any fees?

  • No cash advance fee for cash advances made at SCB ATMs
What are applicants’ qualifications?

How can I open an SCB savings account?

You can open an SCB savings account as follows:

  • Via the SCB EASY app and complete the customer authentication process at any 7-Eleven location near you. (How to open a savings account at 7-Eleven)
  • Visit an SCB branch to open an SCB savings account and tie it to the SCB EASY app.
How can I apply for UP-Ngern-Yuem?

If my loan application is rejected, can I apply again?

You can apply again after 30 days from the date of the previous loan consideration result.

How can I check my account or make a transaction once a loan is approved?

On the SCB EASY app home screen, select the passbook icon on the bottom menu. Go to “My revolving loans” and select “UP-Ngern-Yuem.”

  1. Go to the “All Accounts” menu.
  2. Select “UP-Ngern-Yuem”account.
  3. Go to your UP-Ngern-Yuem account to make a transaction.
How can I draw down an amount once a loan is approved?

Upon loan approval, you can instantly draw down an amount from your SCB savings account.

How can I increase my credit line?

If you wish to increase your credit line, please make payments on time and/or upload any of the following documents:

  1. A payroll slip or a salary certificate,
  2. A copy of your house registration,
  3. A copy of your car registration,
  4. A bank account statement
What are the options for my payment due date?

You can choose a convenient payment due date before making the first draw down as follows: Every 1st, 16th, or 28th day of each month.

How can I apply for direct debit or cancel it?

You can apply for direct debit during the loan application process. Should you wish to change your payment option, please call the SCB Call Center at 02-777-7777.

How can I check my payment history?

Your payment history is available on the SCB EASY app, or you can call the SCB Call Center at 02-777-7777.

Is it possible to make a full repayment for an outstanding balance?

Yes. You can do so by making a payment via the SCB EASY app and selecting the “Full payment” tab.

What happens when I make a payment in excess of an amount due? For example, the amount due as per a statement is 400 baht but I made a payment of 600 baht.

The amount due is collected as billed at 400 baht. The remaining amount of 200 baht will be for settling fees, unpaid interest (if any), and then the principal amount in the respective order to help save on interest to be calculated for the next billing. You can make installments as per the amount and due date stated on the statement.

Can I draw back an overpayment from my UP account?

An overpaid payment cannot be drawn back. It will used be for settling fees, unpaid interest (if any), and then the principal amount in the respective order. The principal amount paid will be added to your credit line for further borrowing.

What are the interest rates, penalty fees, and default rate?

The effective interest rate is 25% p.a. maximum. Late payments may be subject to collection fees of up to 100 baht/billing cycle.

If you receive a regular interest rate, past-due payments will be subject to a default penalty fee of 3% p.a. and up to 25% p.a. maximum of the principal amount due in the billing cycle when such default is incurred. Default penalty fees are calculated from the default date until the default is settled.

If you receive an interest rate of 0% p.a., past-due payments will be subject to a default rate of 25% p.a. of the principal amount due in the billing cycle when such default is incurred. A default penalty fee is calculated from the default date until the default is settled. In this case, there are also collection fees of up to 100 baht/billing cycle.

How are penalty fees and default settled?

A paid amount will be settled for the following items in the respective order: fees, default interest amount, regular interest amount, the principal amount by the age of past-due amounts – from the longest past-due to the most recent.

How many days of a past-due payment will result in a blocked credit line?

4 days

What are UP coins?

UP coins are coins earned from activities to help you save on interest (with 1 UP coin, you pay no interest for a borrowed amount of 1 baht). UP coins can be used for a minimum of 100 UP coins and a maximum of 50% of a borrowed amount.

How long is the validity period of UP coins?

UP coins are valid for 2 years from the date you receive them.

I uploaded documents, but I didn’t get UP coins.

It’s probably because of the following:

  • The documents failed to meet SCB requirements or requirements other than those specified by SCB.
  • It is a duplicate document upload.
  • Failed document upload, which can be caused by the wrong file format or file size. Documents must be in the PDF or JPG formats and sized up to 9MB only. The maximum upload is 3 documents.
