Bangkok – 28 March 2018 – “Siam Commercial Bank” (SCB) has been driving SCB EASY mobile banking application to the next level. The application is now transforming itself into a powerful digital platform to best answer to digital-age consumers’ lifestyles. Embracing “Happy Transaction” concept, it seeks to deliver good feelings to its users every time they make a transaction via SCB EASY. In support of the app, SCB launches “SCB EASY Freenomenon” campaign and positions itself as the first bank to cancel fees for five most popular types of financial transactions via SCB EASY: 1) Money transfers across clearing zones; 2) Real-time interbank transfers; 3) Top-ups; 4) Bill payments; and 5) Cardless cash withdrawals across clearing zones. Fees cancellation has been in effect since 26 March 2018. For Emotional Touch, “Manee” character is used to communicate friendliness, cheerfulness, and simplicity. The character represents SCB EASY, which positions itself to be your best friend and Be Everything. “Bella Ranee”, the latest presenter for SCB EASY, will play “Bella Manee” in “Manee’s Story” commercial. SCB EASY aims to become a platform that connects all societies together and to comprehensively respond to consumers’ financial lifestyles. SCB expresses confidence that the number of SCB EASY downloads and users will soar past 10 million before the end of this year. The app is expected to help push Thailand towards the cashless society.

The new addition enables users to buy SF movie tickets via SCB EASY, responding to the need of Thailand 4.0 lifestyle consumers who love watching movies and the convenience of online ticket purchases. We have developed Partner API Platform to ensure standard, stable, and fast connections with our partner’s system. Moreover, SCB EASY offers full credit-card services. Customers can turn to the app to activate, block, or unblock their credit cards, redeem rewards from credit-card usage via, and purchase investment fund units through SCB EASY. Users can also now purchase products and services by scanning QR code and selecting credit card as a source of fund, hence eliminating to carry physical cards. On top of this, SCB EASY presents several other features for its users’ maximum convenience. Users for example can fast access their app’s account via fingerprint or facial recognition. SCB EASY is now the mobile-banking platform that offers the highest credit limit. The app can also alert customers about credit-card, housing-loan and car-loan due dates. It is possible for users to schedule payments in advance as well”.
“After we revamped SCB EASY and its platform last August, the number of our customers has increased by more than 300,000 every month on average. Our app has now had more than 6.5 million users, 75% of them is active. About 150 million financial transactions have been conducted via SCB Easy every month. Money transfers, top-ups and bill payments are three most popular types of transactions,” he adds.
