In response to the extensive floods in Bangkok, Siam Commercial Bank will shift some of its headquarters operations to other sites beginning 7 November 2011, to ensure that customer service and business functions will be maintained at high standards, as per our business continuity planning. The Bank is relocating these functions temporarily because floods have made it difficult for clients and staff to reach SCB’s Head Office at Ratchayothin.

As a result of this shift, the Bank is now operating from the following four Bangkok centers: Chidlom, Chang Wattana, Sukhumvit and Rama IV. The Bank has been receiving full cooperation and support from both public sector and private organizations, including the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Metropolitan Electricity Authority and True Corporation.

Kannikar Chalitaporn, president of Siam Commercial Bank said, “Customers can rest assured of the convenience and continuity of SCB’s services through our branches, ATMs, on-line channels and business centers. The Bank is committed to serving our customers in the most effective manner possible during this difficult time. Because floods have covered the area around the SCB Head Office and SCB Park Plaza, the Bank has taken measures to protect all these facilities from all potential risks. All the buildings are safe and secure.

“Now that floodwaters have already receded in some areas, the Bank has resumed full operations of branches there since October 20.  List of branches which resume normal operations is attached.

Other branches that have suspended operations will start re-opening to ensure that business in affected areas will get back to normal as soon as possible. More than 1,000 SCB branches nationwide are still fully operational.

SCB is well aware of the difficulties faced by so many of our customers and the public. With this in mind, we are determined to provide services at the same  capacity as in normal times. The Bank stands ready to join our clients in overcoming this crisis. But for any inconvenience, we would like to offer our sincere apologies.
