For over a century, Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) has served Thai society by following the principles of good corporate governance and ethics. In addition to acting responsibly towards our customers, shareholders, employees, and community, the Bank has initiated and supported corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities for the sustainable betterment of society at large.
With this goal in mind, the Bank’s Board of Directors appointed a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee in 2006 to define a CSR framework and supervise CSR projects and activities. The Siam Commercial Foundation (SCBF) is another CSR arm established in 1995, supporting youth development and continuous learning.
The Bank’s CSR focuses particularly on quality-of-life issues and social development
in the following areas:
พัฒนาเยาวชน และส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้
The younger generation is the nation's future.
SCB places emphasis on youth development as the core of its CSR efforts, with SCBF as the major drive. Realizing young people's potential as a valuable human resource and key foundation for the sustainable development of the nation, the Bank helps them for the country's long-term prosperity.
Doing good for society starts with an awareness of generosity and goodwill toward others.
SCB offers various types of volunteer activities to provide opportunities for individuals including SCB staff and younger generations to do good and to take part in public service.
A good environment and quality of life are foundations for society's stability and progress.
Realizing the 3Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) to save the environment, SCB was the first bank in Thailand to offer its ATM customers the option of not receiving a transaction slip, thereby reducing the waste of paper. SCB is constantly moving forward to improve the environment and our quality of life.
